nothing’s ever changed the way you smiled at me,
things are the way they were back then,
and i can still see the stars in your eyes,
and i still remember our countless days,
and sleepless nights with tired eyes from kissing in the light.

all i saw was fallen leaves,
i wished the rain would wash away,
the pain i felt, surreal i know,
i used to dream of 'closure' no,
thought i was ‘better off that way’,
‘never thought that you’d feel bad’,
but i still saw your smile,
and heard your voice inside my head.
