“Never Over You” was released via Small Giant on February 9, 2018 as the first single from Rozzi’s long-awaited debut studio album, Bad Together. Lyrically, the song is inspired by a past relationship which was falling apart, but Rozzi found herself not being “over” her partner.
[Verse 1]
I don't wanna love you, but I do
One more night we can't undo
Are you losing me or am I losing you?
I'm so over this
But let's just agree right now we're not gonna break up
'Cause I can't speak if I think you're gonna walk away
There's nobody else out there that's gonna come save us
Could you just shut up and hear what I'm tryin' to say?
[Chorus]
Sometimes we get too close
Sometimes we can't let go
Right now I'm overdosed, but I'm never over you
(I'm never over you)
And I know I overthink
And it makes you overdrink
And we say things we don't mean, but I'm never over you
(I'm never over you)
[Post-Chorus]
Never over you
Never over you
Never over you
I'm never over you
[Verse 2]
You'd think by now we'd had enough
These sleepless nights make fools of us
Am I keeping you or are you keeping me?
I don't know what it is but I just can't leave
[Chorus]
Sometimes we get too close
Sometimes we can't let go
Right now I'm overdosed, but I'm never over you
(I'm never over you)
And I know I overthink
And it makes you overdrink
And we say things we don't mean, but I'm never over you
(I'm never over you)
[Post-Chorus]
Never over you
Never over you
Never over you
I'm never over you
[Bridge]
I, I would let you go if I could let you go
Not over you
Never over you
I, I would let you go if I could let you go
Not over you
Never over you
[Chorus]
Sometimes we get too close
Sometimes we can't let go
Right now I'm overdosed, but I'm never over you
Sometimes we get too close
Sometimes we can't let go
Right now I'm overdosed, but I'm never over you
(I'm never over you)
And I know I overthink
And it makes you overdrink
And we say things we don't mean, but I'm never over you
[Post-Chorus]
Never over you
(Never over you)
(Never over you)
I'm never over you
Never over you
I will let you go if I could let you go
Never over you
Never over you
But I'm never over you

I wrote [“Never Over You”] when I was still in this relationship and I was at this coffee shop by my house that I go to every morning to work. I was writing a list of all the things in the relationship that I was over; I...
I wrote a lot of the lyrics at this coffee shop by my house. I started by just free writing things I was feeling and then I took my favorite lines and basically wrote a poem. I remember writing ‘I over think and you over drink’ and knowing I was on to something. I took those lyrics to the studio and...
I wrote this song when I was in a fight with my boyfriend at the time. I remember thinking about all our issues and all of the things that weren’t working, and feeling like I needed to write about it. What I kept coming back to was, despite all the things I was ‘over’, I wasn’t over him. It’s a song...
We recorded live organ and piano at The Village studio in Santa Monica. I attempted to re-sing the vocal there as well but we ended up almost exclusively using the vocals from the original demo. There was something special about how I sounded the day I wrote the song – you can hear the real emotion...
