My Full Moon

Hard be the heart of a carnivore
Who takes and does not give back

I am the heart of what's been done before
I think and can't relax

And I am made almost entirely of oranges
That peel themselves cleanly when I fall asleep
And you are the garden that I have long been looking for
And I plant my seeds beneath your compost heap

So be my one full moon
I will be back soon but not too soon

Worse be the wear on my favorite shoes
They've stepped their last few steps

Only to get all the way to you
No need to head back west

And it is not impossible to believe in
The magic of geometry and gold
I do possess a finely tuned intelligence
That tells me all we'll do now is grow old
