[Intro]
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
[Verse 1]
I don't know much about sadness
And I'm not tryin' to act a fool
But I've sure flirted with the madness
And I won't watch it flirt with you
[Chorus]
We're lovin' like angels in our bed
But sleepin' with devils in our head
I'm lovin' with everything that I got
I'm lovin' with everything and won't stop
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
[Verse 2]
I'm not sure if I can promise
I'll always know just what to say
But I'm damn sure that I'll be honest
And that I'll never run away
[Chorus]
We're lovin' like angels in our bed
But sleepin' with devils in our head
I'm lovin' with everything that I got
I'm lovin' with everything and won't stop
We're lovin' like angels in our bed
But sleepin' with devils in our head
I'm lovin' with everything that I got
I'm lovin' with everything and won't stop
[Instrumental Bridge]
[Chorus]
We're lovin' like angels in our bed
But sleepin' with devils in our head
I'm lovin' with everything that I got
I'm lovin' with everything and won't stop
We're lovin' like angels in our bed
But sleepin' with devils in our head
We're lovin' with everything that we got
We're lovin' with everything and won't stop
Much About Sadness was written by Brett Castro.
Brett Castro released Much About Sadness on Mon Mar 05 2018.
I demoed the song back in 2016 and then it just sat on my computer for over a year. A friend I was showing old music to stopped me at “Much About Sadness” and told me it was the best song I’d ever written. After that I dug up the old Ableton file and just started getting to work on it.
I wrote “Much About Sadness” about a lover who was suffering from depression. The song is my expression of the love and support that I never saw offered when I was growing up.
I was listening to a lot of Prince and Jacob Collier at the time I was producing this song, so many elements like the Linn drum machine-style drums and stacked vocals were inspired by their work.
