Moonlight

On a rooftop sits a boy
Eyes wide open, full of joy
They see beauty in the moonlight

Stars connect into pictures of her dazzling face
Shining so bright as they smile from their outer space
He smiles back at them, heart now feeling so warm
An everlasting happiness starts to form
That is called love but what does it matter if she is gone?

Oh, there it is
A feeling that stays so perplexing
Tries to move on
But he can't
Is that so wrong?
He tells himself
That he is a fool
But he cries every night for over a year so does that really mean he's a fool?

They told him it's just one heartbreak you can move on when you're ready
But there he is, still thinking of her

How do you love someone
And then stop loving that someone?
He's so sorry but he doesn't believe in that
That's simply not what love's about, there's so much more
