Martha Mitchell was married to John Mitchell, the Attorney General of the US, part of Nixon’s cabinet. She was outspoken with the press. In June 1972 she was kidnapped by government thugs. One of her tormentors was Stephen King, later a Trump appointee (ambassador).
You know I saw you on old Frosty's TV show
When you said the things we really didn't ought to know
But you can't forget about the thugs, Martha
Won't you tell us 'bout the bugs?
Although your story's really sad on tape
But they're the ones who're mad
Oh, Martha
Oh, Martha
Although they put you down, you're fun
But you're no clown
Oh, Martha
Oh, Martha the mouth
You can talk and talk until your final breath
But from your own lips, there came the kiss of death
And now they must hang their heads in shame
You know that you were the one to blame
Shut up, don't you give us any lip
Just run, you can give us guys the slip
Oh, Martha
Oh, Martha
Although they put you down, you're fun
But you're no clown
Oh, Martha
Oh, Martha the mouth
Won't you tell us 'bout the votes, Martha?
Please tell us 'bout the votes, Martha
Won't you tell us 'bout the votes, Martha?
Please tell us 'bout the votes, Martha
Tell us 'bout the votes
Please tell us 'bout the votes, Martha
Won't you tell us 'bout the votes, Martha?
Please tell us 'bout the votes, Martha
Won't you tell us 'bout the votes, Martha?
Please tell us 'bout the votes, Martha
Won't you tell us 'bout the votes, Martha?
Please tell us 'bout the votes, Martha
