This song is a reflection of NiNE8 Collective’s experiences in London. It is a neo-funk take on West Side life for the members. It is not an altogether utopian image of the city, but it is more of a realistic view that Lava and Nige express through their bona fide personas.

[Chorus: Lava La Rue, Nige]
West side of the River Thames
We like to keep it naughty
Come on, come on
From Kilburn High to Littlefair
They're hardly saying 'Oh Please'
Woo
Aha
West side of the River Thames
We like to keep it naughty
Oh, eh
[?] for the Ten (Eh, eh, oh)
The kids are very naughty (Ha, ha, ha)
Ow!
(Ahem)
[Refrain: Nige]
Alright
See sometimes things aren't quite as they seem
Nice street, nice folk
But you don't see the smokers lining up 'round the corner
Queuing for their two-one-two
Normal neighbourhood
But all of a sudden my schoolmates are pushing prams
Well someone's been bagged
Gone and done a nasty scam
Burned out fans
See its not all quite what it seems
I used to bash heads as a young man
Now I serve Posta tea to local nans
Do shows when I can
So don't take life for a simple black-and-white affair
Think you know left from right
Turns out you don't know what's where
Used to fancy her like mad, now she's looking like a Mayor
I used to rate my man, and now he does spice on the stairs
What a sorry affair
So I don't really know my ass from my elbow half the time
I keep my head down and live the life I wanna lead
But for all the monotony and tedium you see in your day-to-day
Just know, it's not quite what it seems
[Chorus: Lava La Rue]
West side of the River Thames
We like to keep it naughty
Come on, come on
From Kilburn High to Littlefair
They're hardly saying 'Oh Please'
Woo
Aha
West side of the River Thames
We like to keep it naughty
Oh, eh
[?] for the Ten
The kids are very naughty
Ow!
