Man on the Street

On the street is what I see,
a man I hope isn't me.
Head down, ripped clothes,
no shoes to cover his toes.

How this happened, I don't know,
this man's luck is very low.
Walking with a shopping cart,
can't get a job, not even at K-mart.

Asking for money everyday,
not getting an hours pay.
Now I know what I see,
the man I do not want to be.
