Making Memories

I’ve spent my whole life, looking back
And photographs, were all I had
Embraced the pages of my past
Somehow I knew that couldn’t last
I never dreamed, to break away
Was living life just day to day
But then I lost my heart
She broke right though my guards
The making of new memories
And fantasies could start

When I found my guiding star
Suddenly new memories
Could all become a part

I feel like making memories
Still got the books, they’ve done me well
But I made some room up on the shelve
Unafraid of what lies ahead
We’ll make the plans and make them last
