World wrapped a black veil ‘round a covid jail
The people came together they began to wail
The lands fell hush and the cities felt the sting
Everywhere was quiet and the birds began to sing
Got the blues everybody got the blues
Everybody in the whole wide world scared with the lockdown blues

Health care workers were forced to fight alonе
Many patients died quietly scarеd and all alone
People from Milan helped those fighting and sang
Whole world heard an’ bonded like a gang

Everybody in the whole wide world singin’ out the lockdown blues

Numbers kept growing and the fear was real
You could be next and now it was real
Countries who missed the warnings and the signs
Paid the highest price an’ made the headlines
Got the blues everybody got the blues
Everybody in the whole wide world in fear of the lockdown blues

The sadness was written on all the counted stones
Many had to weep in their homes all alone
At last the people could come out into the square
See their friends and yes we all had long hair

Everybody in the whole wide world dancing to the lockdown blues

Only hope we learn for all the worlds sake
How fragile we are and can so easily break
We’ll phase back to normal and slowly get our fix
I wanna stick around awhile to get my kicks
