An affiliation of sorrow and grief

We were refugees of conflicts
With so much to be sorry for
Now we're all but convicts
With an empty soul to restore

Betrayed and wronged
All of us roamed alone
In search of a place
That we soon could call home

Memories turn to stone
As the horizon starts to frame
A sustainable set of communities (the great city)
We wiped out and defamed

Hope I don't have for my own people
Cure I won't seek for my own ease
Shame I will keep for my delusion
Guilt will be destroyed with my own leap

The triumph of a lunatic
The description at hand
It took a turn so quick
Was this his masterplan?

The light is out
And I revive all my past
With such greediness all around
How much longer can I last?

Hope I don't have for my own people
