Legacy

I was born with expectations
With preset destinations
But my heart knew which direction
I had to go to be

Something I would love
That I'd be proud I had become
Even if I'm never number one
I fought for this, a life I chose for me

And I hope and pray, in my day to day
When my time has come, and my breath slips away
That I may have lived enough to leave with no regrets
And that all I've done, will have long lived on
Be it actions or a simple song
Through strength and will, to build my Legacy

Not a stranger to ventures
Problems left, right and centre
Ever since I can remember
I've been fighting to survive

But I won't be scared
My body and mind are trained, prepared
And I'll lay my life for those who care
And stand by me until my time is nigh
