‘laundry day’ is about tension in Robbie’s family, and looking back on better times when everyone was happier and healthier. He really loved working with a string quartet on this track to bring it to life.
[Verse 1]
They're not coming back
You're living in the past
Keep it under wraps
Everybody knows
[Chorus]
Laundry day, gonna shrink your shirt
Makes a perfect fit for me, don't know when you'll learn
Little pieces of their old home
Of a better time for me, please just let it go
[Verse 2]
It's been getting worse, but you don't wanna know
Ignoring how it hurts, delaying getting old
[Chorus]
Laundry day, gonna shrink your shirt
Makes a perfect fit for me, don't know when you'll learn
On the wall of the overflow
Don't feel welcome here at all, pleasе just let it go
[Verse 3]
Stir crazy from hanging around
So her brother and mе take her out of town
Silence loud in the forest burnt
Man, she doesn't wanna be here, don't know when I'll learn

[“laundry day”] is about some hard times my family’s gone through, but the chorus came from a fond childhood memory of mine, where my dad would always end up shrinking all his clothes every time he did the laundry.
