Faun: “Lament” has its origins in an old pre-Christian mourning song from the north of England. We have extended this song by a few verses and turned it into an emotional dirge with choirs, drums and old instruments.
In the Celtic pagan religion, there is no threatening division into heaven and hell...
[Intro]
This ae nighte, this ae nighte
Every nighte and alle
Fire and fleet and candle-lighte
The gods receive thy saule
[Instrumental Break]
[Verse 1]
When from here away you pass
Every nighte and alle
To Annwns shore thou com'st at last
The gods receive thy saule
[Instrumental Break]
[Verse 2]
When at Annwns shore you dwell
Every nighte and alle
This song shall honour your farewell
The gods receive thy saule
[Verse 3]
You are sorely missed dear friend
Every night and alle
Until one day we'll meet again
The gods receive thy saule
[Instrumental Break]
[Bridge]
This ae nighte, this ae nighte
This ae nighte, this ae nighte
[Outro]
This ae nighte, this ae nighte
Every nighte and alle
Fire and fleet and candle-lighte
The gods receive thy saule
