Wilbur Soot’s cover of “KMD (and You are Ever so Dear in Our Hearts Because of it!)” by american poetry club pays homage to the band, as is it one of Wilbur’s favourite bands to listen to. Wilbur puts his own take and emotion into the cover by accompanying it with his signature, calm guitar tune.
[Verse 1]
It's getting late, I should go to bed
I never felt any existential dread
I can’t spend today in my bed
There's no one at home, no texts to be read
I hope at the end of your set
All my friends stay, no one's upset
I hope we all dance, we all break a sweat
I find a working outlet
[Verse 2]
I’ve heard what you're thinking of
And it tears me to pieces
Is it your mom you were thinking of?
A whole army, small but not giving in
I'm feeling safer than I knew I could be
With your arms dragging me into the sea
I'm feeling safer than I knew I could be
With your arms dragging me into the sea
[Outro]
It's getting late, I should go to bed
It's getting late, I should go to bed
It's getting late, I should go to bed

I covered this song after Jordan Weinstock (lead singer of APC) sent me the tabs on twitter. Jordan has been nothing but kind and helpful to me in my music and my progress learning to sing/play better. I am a big fan of american poetry club’s work and this was the least I could do. I don’t have too...
