“Keeping The Status Quo” came about from numerous bus journies to and from college. Quite frequently, there would be someone completely concealing his face whilst listening to music. As such, the song was written from the perspective of asking ‘why do they do it?’
Sat alone he thinks about life
Pain for him is taking the knife
Hiding his face and all his tears
Always made fun of by his peers
This might all they've ever known
Constantly told to stop and "no"
But what if this cowl is just for show?
A person moving on but keeping the status quo
Often silent in a crowd
But he's a one who stays around
Just to see what others do
One day he knows that he'll break through
This might all they've ever known
Constantly told to stop and "no"
But what if this cowl is just for show?
A person moving on but keeping the status quo
This might all you've ever known
Constantly told to stop and "no"?
But what if your cowl is just for show?
A person moving on but keeping your status quo
