‘Keep Me A Space’ is the first single from Godspeed, the fourth album by Glasvegas.
It was recorded, engineered, and produced by James Allan, the lead singer and songwriter of the band.
In an August 2020 NME interview, NME noted the song “comes off as a forlorn love song”.
James Allan’s response...
On the concrete where you wander
How you keep that’s where I wonder
That’s where you have a private institution under
My imaginary umbrella cover
I left the low hanging fruit in the field alone
Should your chrysalis palms ever reach below
For you I shook the prize machine empty
Where your view points, I still walk that way
[Chorus 1]
Nothing lasts forever
Some people say
All things must pass
I don't feel these ways
Somewhere in your drеam
Kathleen, keep me a space
Kathleen, where you've been, where you're going
Girl, does someone circle your spirits walls?
And if it's true that life is a beach ball
Throw as many, I'll be your beach
I will catch them all
One day has passed since I spoke to her
Years have passed since I heard Kathleen answer
Time took our book and ripped out a chapter
The one where summertime '89 froze ever after
[Chorus 2]
Nothing lasts forever
Some people say
All things must pass
I don't I feel these ways
Somewhere in your dream
Kathleen, keep me a space
(Instrumental)
[Chorus 3 and outro choruses]
Nothing lasts forever
Some people say
All things must pass
I don't feel these ways
Somewhere in your dream
Kathleen, keep me a space
Nothing lasts forever
Some people say (some people say)
All things must pass
I don't feel these ways (feel these ways)
Somewhere in your dream
Kathleen, keep me a space
Nothing lasts forever
Some people say (some people say)
All things must pass
I don't feel these ways (feel these ways)
Somewhere in your dream
Kathleen, keep me a space
Somewhere in your dream
Kathleen, keep me a space
Somewhere, Kathleen
Keep me a space
