“Katzenjammer” was the original name of the lineup that would later become “Sons of Kyuss” and, ultimately, “Kyuss.” The word “Katzenjammer” is allegedly German for “hangover.”
Song is a tongue-in-cheek play on the constant metaphor “girl = car” that was constantly used in the 80s hair rock.
[Verse 1]
I want a girl and not a car
I want a girl that will take me far
A car is nice, it will get me where I want to go, yeah
You can't rub up to a car and ask it what it knows
If I tell a car I love her, will it answer back?
Take a look underneath the hood
And I won't get thrilled
[Chorus]
Baby, rev my motor
Make my blood boil beyond her love
Baby, rev my motor
Make my blood boil beyond her love
[Bridge]
Oh, oh, Kyuss
[Verse 2]
Run your fingers through my hair
I use my car to get me there
Recline my seats and lay my body back
I hope my car and baby will last
She's got blonde hair and them pretty blue eyes
My car will last but my baby will die
[Chorus]
Baby, rev my motor
Make my blood boil beyond her love
Baby, rev my motor
Make my blood boil beyond her love
[Chorus]
Baby, rev my motor
Make my blood boil beyond her love
Baby, rev my motor
Make my blood boil beyond her love
Yeah
