“Jenny” is the first single off of The Click Five’s second album Modern Minds And Pastimes.
The name Jenny supposedly represents anyone who is picky and indecisive. However, some people think that it refers to Park Bom, a korean singer and friend of the band, who’s English name is Jenny.
[Verse 1]
She calls me "Baby"
Then she won't call me
Says she adores me
And then ignores me
Jenny, what's the problem?
She keeps her distance
And sits on fences
Puts up resistance
And builds defenses
Jenny, what's the problem?
[Pre-Chorus 1]
You leave me hangin' on the line
Every time you change your mind
[Chorus]
First you say you won't
Then you say you will
You keep me hangin' on
And we're not movin' on
Or standin' still
Jenny, you've got me on my knees
Jenny, it's killin' me
[Verse 2]
She needs her own space
She's playin' mind games
Ends up at my place
Sayin' that she's changed
Jenny, what's the problem?
[Pre-Chorus 2]
I'm trying to read between the lines
You got me goin' out of my mind
[Chorus]
First you say you won't
Then you say you will
You keep me hangin' on
And we're not movin' on
Or standin' still
Jenny, you've got me on my knees
Jenny, it's killin' me
[Bridge]
(Oh-oh-oh)
It's killin' me
(Oh-oh-oh)
It's killin' me
(Oh-oh-oh)
Jenny
[Chorus]
First you say you won't
Then you say you will
You keep me hangin' on
And we're not movin' on
Or standin' still
Jenny, you've got me on my knees
Jenny
First you say you won't
Then you say you will
You keep me hangin' on
And we're not movin' on
Or standin' still
Jenny, you've got me on my knees
Jenny, it's killin' me
[Outro]
It's killin' me
Jenny
