The short piano piece Aufforderung zum Tanz is a concert waltz, meant to be a musical description of dancers rather than a piece of music to be danced to. It is well-known in its orchestra version that was made by Hector Berlioz. It was written for the composer’s new wife, to whom it is dedicated.
