When a slave was drunk, the slaveholder had no fear that he would plan an insurrection
No fear that he would escape to the north
The drink of choice, however, is no ordinary spirit, no, it's an ambition
Thrusted upon us through aesthetics tailored for you by those who toil with ideas that make men feel like gods
And our protagonist is one who has fallen victim to the addictive properties of this concoction
And you may propose the question
"Well, hasn't that which hath made them drunk made him bold?
What quenched them hath given him fire, correct?"
And it'd be a flame well earned if that were the case
But every triumph is merely a tragedy in sheep's clothing
