This magnificent Lincoln, was delivered to the White House on Wednesday, June 14th, 1961. Built at a cost of a hundred and ninety-five thousand dollars ($195,000), it was leased by Ford, to the Secret Service, for a token five hundred dollars ($500) a year. The timeless styling of the all-new 1961 four-door convertible provided a natural platform from which to work. Ford Motor Company selected a stock Lincoln Convertible from the assembly line, and shipped it bodybuilder Hess & Eisenhardt in Cincinnati, Ohio where the Lincoln was converted into a parade limousine
