I used to wish that I could have a family just like the ones I saw on TV: mom and dad happily married, all my siblings in one house. Shit. Truth is, before my mom passed, I never even seen my parents in the same room, and I never had a chance to wonder why—there were too many other issues that needed attention. Mom's got into drugs, and we already know how that played out, and my father fell into a system that would dictate his life for years to come, but the craziest part of it all is I realize now that I never woulda had it any other way
