Target on my head
Try to get a reaction
Drag me out of bed
Find another distraction
Gotta prove I don’t know best before I learn any lesson
Say “I need some time to decide my course” but in hindsight see that I made no choice

Now it’s getting harder
Because I’m stuck inside with the faults in my framework

When I return to shore I want the water to drain off of a self I respect

And I’m sick of the way that I want to be better
But I won’t put the work in
Cos when the work goes in the dirt comes out
Im asleep at the wheel and when I wake up I know
That with the time that I have to myself I could grow
But I am way too dumb to find where it hurts

Crystal clear in Kyoto
I need to clear my head with a rental bike
My better half and a map of the shrines
Perfect vibe in Kyoto
Record stores and the ramen bowls
Strangers smiles and the arcades claw machine toys

Looking back on menial things and I realise now the joy they bring
Because happiness weighs before it starts
It’s not one thing but the sum of its parts that we love

The world will still be here when the waiting’s done
