In The Lunar Light

It’s the silence that comes
From the moon and the sun
And the cold in my nose
When the weather is wrong
The smoke and the girl I am running from
That keeps me alive

The winter, the church and the ones who know
What I am not telling the rest of you
The most of the world and the undertow
That gives me the right

A place in the eye of the universe
On a rock with a heart of manure
A city where the bullies and the mockingbirds
Can live side by side

That’s where i want to begin when i reach the end
Again and again and again and again
And stay with my family and my friends
