I’m So Dope

[CHIEF THE POET]
I'm so dope
I carved this poem in a blunt on the stoop of a trap house
So blunt, I spit kilos of dope, I got a trap mouth
Can't no scale measure this
I got a way with words
You can't weigh these words
And the way this works is
You light a fire under a poet
Pen turns syringe
I inject my journals with this dope
Why you think pages come with veins
I'm a fiend too
I just use different white lines to cope
I'm so dope, I completely ignored Biggie's advice
I get high on my own supply
I mean, why not?
I'm dope

Sometimes, you gotta look in that mirror
And reminder yourself who you are
You know?

I'm so dope I can't remember the last time I felt sober
So I purposely wrote this poem without smoking
And that process alone was even more of a high

I'm so dope
I snort notebook lines through lead pencils
And stencil thoughts that some have considered to be
What they call bottom of the spoon hot
You can often find me publicly practicing
Somewhere snapping
What can I say it's a habit
Some say I live an addict's life
The way I always tap twice
To make sure the page
Isn't preoccupied before I begin to write
What can I say, I'm polite
So I’m a knock
I'm not your average word junkie
I told you, I'm dope
A writing rehab flunky
Who relapses monthly
Known for making a pen sprint
But have yet to get tired of running laps
Around the same poetic tracks

All I ask is that you don't interject
As I inject ink to paper
Attention all villains
The hero is in the system
Did I mention

I'm so dope sometimes I say dope shit
Only other dope ass people will get
I'm so dope I'll be the first one to admit
I don't have a problem
Shit, I am the problem
I'm so dope women who know
I'm no good for them keep coming back
Forget crack
Have you seen what these poems do to a black man's brain
With a side effect that drives coke-white folks insane
I tried to warn 'em I had an addiction
But they didn't want to listen
But you wanna know what's scary
I think this disease may be hereditary
You should hear my daughter's diction
