First recorded on the 8th of August 1940, and was originally written by Ruth Lowe. The Ink Spots were one of the first bands to sing this song, with it later being popularised by Tommy Dorsey and His Orchestra, with vocals provided by Frank Sinatra and The Pied Pipers.
I'll never smile again
Until I smile at you
I'll never laugh again
What good would it do?
For tears would fill my eyes
My heart would realize
That our romance is through
I'll never love again
I'm so in love with you
I'll never thrill again
To somebody new
Within my heart
I know I will never start
To smile again
Until I smile at you
[Spoken]
I'll never smile again, darling
Unless I smile at you
I'll never laugh again
What good would that do?
For tears would fill my eyes
My heart would realize
That our romance, honey child
It's through
[Spoken]
I'll never love again
I'm so in love with you
I'll never thrill again
To somebody new
Within my heart
I know I will never start
To smile again
Until I smile at you
