“I Have Dreamed” is Andrews' cover of the song of the same name from Rodgers & Hammerstein’s musical The King and I. It is originally a duet between the secret lovers Lun Tha and Tuptim.
Interestingly, Julie Andrews starred as Anna in the 1992 studio cast recording of The King and I.
[Verse 1]
I have dreamed that your arms are lovely
I have dreamed what a joy you'll be
I have dreamed every word you'll whisper
When you're close, close to me
[Verse 2]
How you look in the glow of evening
I have dreamed and enjoyed the view
In these dreams I've loved you so
That by now I think I know
What it's like to be loved by you
I will love being loved by you
[Verse 3]
Alone and awake I've looked at the stars
The same that smiled on you
And time and again I've thought all the things
That you were thinking too
[Verse 4]
I have dreamed that your arms are lovely
I have dreamed and enjoyed the view
In these dreams I've loved you so
That by now I think I know
What it's like to be loved by you
I will love being loved by you
I will love being loved by you
I Have Dreamed was written by Oscar Hammerstein II & Richard Rodgers & Rodgers & Hammerstein.
