I Had Angels Watching Over Me

I recall a friend said that I had angels watching over me
Despite my total lack of caution in things
Not worried bout my friends; shit , I had angels watching over me, I figured they were sitting next to me

But now I reserve
And I can hardly find the nerve to break the laws that they lay down

No matter what my friends meant; I had angels watching over me, I used to think they did it casually

But now I wrestle the blame, and if angels used my name to make decisions all through my life

How can I be blamed

I guess they kept potential harm close, spoke to me in simple language hoping I might understand

Mostly I stayed inside

Driving with my eyes closed, I had angels watching over me
I guess I really wasn’t listening
Through my highs and lows, I had angels watching over me
I figured they were sitting next to me
