“I Don’t Want To Know” follows a heartbroken teenager after their love interest chose someone else.
Sigrid has stated in interviews that this song was written while reflecting on growing up, drawing inspiration from what she and her co-writer believes many young people are experiencing.
[Verse 1]
I know you have your good side
Oh, I know you have
Even at your worst, you, you're not so bad
[Pre-Chorus]
But when you had the choice, you chose someone else
When you had the choice, you chose someone else
Someone else
[Chorus]
I don't wanna meet ya, I don't wanna talk
'Cause I don't wanna know that nothing's changed at all
You don't need a reason, this is not your fault
I don't wanna know, I don't wanna know
I don't wanna know
[Verse 2]
My everyday reminder
Walking by your house
That I'm the outsider in your crowd
[Pre-Chorus]
'Cause when you had the choice, you chose someone else
When you had the choice, you chose someone else
Someone else
[Chorus]
I don't wanna meet ya, I don't wanna talk
'Cause I don't wanna know that nothing's changed at all
You don't need a reason, this is not your fault
I don't wanna know, I don't wanna know
I don't wanna know
[Bridge]
And I tell my mom I feel like the odd one out
Then she says that no one really likes junior high
And I believe her (I believe her, I believe her)
Yeah, I believe her (I believe her, I believe her)
And if I run into you in the same old bar
I'll say, "It's totally cool, I'm not hurt at all"
"It's good to see ya, so good to see ya"
[Chorus]
But I don't wanna meet ya, I don't wanna talk
'Cause I don't wanna know that nothing's changed at all
You don't need a reason (You don't need a reason)
This is not your fault (This is not your fault)
I don't wanna know (I don't wanna know)
No, I don't wanna know (No, I don't wanna know)
I don't wanna know
(I don't wanna know, I don't wanna know)
[Outro]
I don't wanna know
(I don't wanna know, I don't wanna know)
I don't wanna know
I don't wanna know

Real excited about releasing this song. It’s definitely different than what I’ve been releasing before, but I think this one shows even more what type of music that I love.
I was working with Jamie Hartman and Bergen, so yeah, it was very fun. It was the first time [Jamie] was there in the studio,...
To be honest, maybe The War on Drugs. I’ve been listening a lot to them for that past 1 year or 2 years. Also, like, it’s maybe a bit more like… it doesn’t sound like Fleetwood Mac at all, but definitely like the songwriting, maybe. I don’t know, but lots of those things has inspired me a lot for th...
