I Couldn’t Find You

I looked all around my room last night
I couldn't find you
I looked high and low
But you weren't there

I looked on the table
I looked under the bed
You weren't sitting in the chair
You didn't turn on the light

It was dark all around
Maybe that's why I couldn't find you
I didn't want to give up
I looked all night long

And when the sun came up
You still weren't there
I went about my things
Without you

But you were on my mind
I imagined you

And then when I saw you
You still weren't there
