[Verse 1: Josh Man]
Last night, Mia cried in her room alone
She wondered how her full house could be an empty home
At school, she wasn't doing well, failing three classes
All because she was trying so hard to please the masses
Caught her boyfriend cheating the other day
But when she tried to confront him, she had nothing to say
She tried to hold it down, but her anxiety throttled
Her soul crying for peace, her mind mottled
Then she remembered those days spent in Sunday school
As she got older, the same faith she ridiculed
But there was no other option, so exhausted, she was nauseous
So she kneeled down, closed her eyes
Prayed to someone she didn't believe in
But while she was breathing, she had this gut feeling
Heard a small voice say that it'd be okay
"I'll never leave or forsake you, that's the promise I made"
[Interlude: FORREST]
And Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” I don't know why bad things happen, I don't. But I know that all the struggles we go through, all the pain that we experience -- The sun will rise again, God has not abandoned us. And He never will
[Verse 2: Josh Man]
Yesterday, troubling thoughts were resting on my mind
Why we living in a world full of sin and crime?
Why does God allow tragedy into our lives?
Why do good ones have to go, why do babies die?
I pondered these questions with heavy heart and cried aloud
"God, why is the sun covered up by these clouds?"
All this pain and hardship made me want to shout
Filled with doubt, while corrupted politicians having clout
But when it seemed like I was at the point of breaking
Getting tired of putting on a mask and faking
Happiness, I heard a faint voice while I was praying
I had to focus and listen to catch what it was saying
It was the voice of God, calm and consoling
I shed tears when I heard what He had told me
He said, "Be still, know I am God, exalted in the earth"
"I formed you in your mother's womb, and I knew you from birth"
[Outro: Josh Man]
I know that it can be hard to pray
I know sometimes you run out of words to say
But trust and believe that Jesus lit the way
And remember every bad night turns to day

Tried to make this a sort-of-relatable song. I know how it feels when every day feels like night. But the sun will come up eventually, it always does. Just stick it out and be patient, God will come through. He always does.
