The way I'm feeling about the brotherhood
Has got my feeling down
And up to no good
How I feel about the brotherhood
Has got my feeling down and up
To no good
Well I shoved a mirror under the door
Just to show I don't want my room cleaned up anymore
I poured me cranberry juice there on the floor
Letting it flow on a mirror under the door
It's just reflecting the feeling
There's something less appealing
When brothers are not
Brothers anymore
Feeling about the brotherhood has got me down and up
To no good
The maids at this hotel
Mostly can't pronounce its name
I know they harbored young wicked desires
Though with this hour of of the morning them flowers are tame
Uniforms attempt to uniform but their name tags persuade you they're not all the same
And you wish you could be out of their head in your bed going going o'er how they came
All this talk about the brotherhood has got me feeling down and up
To no good
It's only reflecting the feeling
Of something less appealing
When sisters are not
Sisters don't want her
Now on the box the singer's got his hands full
And it's leaking to this room
He says he cannot say so for now
He'll just shut up and croon
He'll always be a woman
He'll want to make love to
Way too soon
And blame it on the blood
On the bottom of the barrel or on the moon
Before you get to call him a liar
His ideas take said seat in your head
And then full bloom
They predict there's time enough for dread
Later on in the eternal doom
The way I'm feeling about the brotherhood
Has got my feeling down
And up to no good
Meanwhile a mirror full of cranberry
Was apparently a hit
There's a crowd outside the door
Murmuring and reflecting on it
I would crawl out of the window
If I thought I couldn't handle it
But I'm sure there's something else on the television set
That I haven't channeled yet
So I'll let them ponder on my art
And maybe focus on the way
Someday we will have met
With the crimson on the mirror under the door
All sticky and wet
Feeling about the brotherhood has got me down and up
To no good
Feeling about the brotherhood has even got me sitting here
Singing like Gordon Lightfoot
