One morning in June a noise shook the ground
And the people all trembled on their faces lay down
And the sound on the lips of the world all around
Was the name of Hiroshima

The people lay wrapped in their darkening shroud
The last resting place of a people once proud
And the town that lay under that great mushroom cloud
Was the name of Hiroshima

And those left remaining wished that they too could die
For the people left here are still living a lie
In the shame of Hiroshima
