[Verse 1]
Yes Count Coolout, just who I be
And as far as you can see there will never be
Another MC that's as cool as me
Another MC with such a policy
It goes when I say rhythm, say "Each and every day"
Then when I say double R you say "Is here to stay"
You see I rock to the rhythm (Each and every day!)
Me and my double R (Is here to stay!)
'Cause the sound of double R (Is here to stay!)
We're rockin' to the rhythm (Each and every day!)
My name is Count Coolout!
[Verse 2]
Here is the sound you been waiting for
It gives you what you need and a whole lot more
It took you by surprise when it first came out
But now it feels so good that you wanna shout
And since you dig the groove of Count Coolout
I'll put you down on what my double R is all about
But first to the MCs who claim they can rap
I wanna shoot some rap your way
And I know you can tell when you hear my cowbell the double R is here to stay
*cowbell solo*
[Verse 3]
Yes I'm Count Coolout, the cool ghoul MC
As I roll with the punches I rock to the beat
And I posses just what you need
I'm gonna make all the young ladies hearts bleed
And since you dig my show and you're ready to go
I'm gonna give you something other than that plain old low
'Cause everybody's gettin' down whether near or far
From the man in the moon to the girl on Mars
Even the big recording stars will sing la la
Or take a chance to dance to my double R
[Verse 4]
You know when people first heard the ghoulish way I get down
They thought the groove of Count Coolout was just to pass the time
When I walked into this party just the other night
Somebody in the crowd said "Count rock the mic!"
So I took a microphone on out my pocket
I plug it on up and then I started to rock it
I rocked 'em with tales from far and near
And the story of this freak called Mary Contrare
You see Mary [?] Contrare through the rest of the world
To every man, every woman, every boy and girl
'Cause although she was fine, body very sweet
All of life she was doomed to bein' just a freak
But then she heard of this groove that had just hit town
Called the Double R rock it was supposed to be down
So Mary Contrare went out to buy new jeans
So she could step out hard on the disco scene
And when she got to the disco it was almost three
She walked over to the door to see how much it would be
She said "Pardon me sir, my name is Mary Contrare
Exactly what would it cost for me to enter in here?"
He said "For guys it's six and for girls it's three
But since you're a freak you can get in free"
And when she walked inside all the men had fits
'Cause her jeans were so tight they were ready to split
Heard [?] just the same
I eased up on the floor and then I asked her name
She said "My name is Mary Contrare from 52nd Street
I used to be content with just being a freak
But now that times have changed and life is on the move
I'm spending all my time tryin' to find new groove"
Pardon me Miss Contrare for not letting you speak
I am Count Coolout, the cool ghoul MC
I understand your problem and know just what you need
To make you rise above the changes of being a freak
First you must promise me that wherever you go
That you hip everyone to what I'm letting you know
"I'll do my best to let the people know
I'll tell everyone I see, everywhere I go
But enough with this talk, give me some action now
I've been in search of new groove and now I want to get down
So I took her by the hand, led her on the floor
Her eyes showed she was anxious for the groove in store
And once I hit her with the dose of double R rock
She screamed "I dig the groove of Count Coolout"
And then we bust back home just as fast as you could
And let her friends all know this new groove felt good!
[Verse 5]
The sun had already rose when she got crosstown
And all her friends were outside, wanted to hear what she found
They said "Mary Contrare, come on and let us hear just how this new groove goes"
"And if you want me to tell when you hear the cowbell, everybody stand up in a row"
*cowbell*
They said "Mary Contrare, come and tell us the truth, what is this new groove like?"
She said "It's double R rock and it feels so good to do while the Count rocks the mic"
Now the rest of this tale is just history 'cause now you've gotten into my sound
And Mary Contrare's no longer a freak 'cause Mary stays double R rocked down
You see a groove feels so good can't be all bad
And while I have the mic in hand baby might I add
Some people call me crazy 'cause of how I spend my time
You can have your own opinion but the microphone is mine
You can tell them what you know, you can travel near and far
But you won't get anywhere without the sound of double R
'Cause all the men in the moon to all the girls on Mars
Even the big recording stars who sing la la
Or take a chance to dance to my double R
[Verse 6]
But at first when people heard the ghoulish way I get down
They thought the groove of Count Coolout was just to pass this time
'Cause people thought I'd lose my rap and get lost in my rhyme
But I got more rap than an actor has lines
[?] in due time, [?] on your mind
I was born to get it on to the end of time
My name is Count Coolout!
Somebody down in front yell CC don't stop (Don't stop!)
So I sing I pledge allegiance to the double R rock
And when the people in the house got into my sound
They kept on clapping their hands and yelling all wild
'Cause I can withstand the pressure, whether cold or hot
But can you stand the pressure of double R rock?
If so, when I say sure say "Then I'll be in doubt"
Then when I say cool say "I'd be Count Coolout"
You know, if you weren't sure (Then I'll be in doubt)
But if you had lots of cool (I'd be Count Coolout)
You see I mesmerize and I rectify and I'll hypnotize your mind
Yes without a doubt I am Count Coolout
But I'm simply not the staying kind
I said I rule your life and then I break your heart
'Cause when the Count steps out, I step out hard
And just like you heard before I more got rap in store
'Cause I get down all the way
And I know you can tell when you hear my cowbell
The double R is here to stay
*cowbell*
And to the sucker MCs you better cop some plea
If you can't get past hip hop
'Cause whether near or far me and my double R
Won't stop 'til we reach the top
And to the pretty ladies with the hearts to bleed
You've all been so good to me
I'm gonna send you a song before I move along
That I call my special treat
'Cause I'm the man who leads a life of danger
To everything I need I stay a stranger
And whether near or far, me and my double R
Will keep rockin' parties on until tomorrow
