This work for flute and chamber orchestra premiered in Jerusalem in May 1981, with Jean-Pierre Rampal as soloist and the composer conducting. It was composed in honor of Yadin Tanenbaum, a young flutist who was killed at the Suez Canal during the Yom Kippur War.
