“gold” is EDEN’s way of telling how he has moved on from writing songs about old relationships, mostly as his former alias The Eden Project. It’s the second single off EDEN’s first full length LP, vertigo.
The track was pre-released on a ghost Spotify account “190118”, which also hinted to the albu...
[Intro]
Don't know how well this is gonna be
But, the basic idea is—
[Verse 1]
Free fall for now
Desert air won't drown you out
And for a second I thought the world was ending
And I couldn't breathe in
Yeah, and so this isn't your time
Yeah, been chasing kairos with those scapegoat eyes
Can't you realize?
Fuck the summertime, it's you
So scared of overgrowing youth
When it's not done with you
[Chorus]
And everybody gon' run, run
Everybody gon' run, run
And you can call it what you want
But I call it moving on
And I'm so done with singing words I don't believe in no more
[Verse 2]
So what you rushing for?
Who said it's now or never?
I think you're taking on the wrong advice
But it's alright if these are your worst times
You know you're good
You're good
[Interlude]
And if you want you can breathe on your own
This isn't what I thought but it's beautiful
Make peace with your mistakes and they'll turn to gold
Weightless, I let go
[Chorus]
And everybody gon' run, run
Everybody gon' run, run
And you can call it what you want
But I call it moving on
And I'm so done with singing words I don't believe in no more
[Outro]
No more, call it what you want
Call it what you want but I call it growing up and I'm done

I was a showing my friend a guitar and he tuned it to this weird tuning that I don’t even understand, one day I picked up the same guitar and it was still in that tuning, and the first thing I played ended up becoming the riff to that song.

It’s actually a really important song for the album. Funny thing was a friend of mine came over to my house when I was living here in Williamsburg and he plays guitar in a weird tuning and detunes guitars, so the next day I picked up the guitar to play, and the first thing I played is that guitar ri...
