“Glow” is the fifth song listed in Moose Blood’s second studio album Blush. The song is addressed to the speaker’s uncle. “Glow” tackles the idea of losing a relative in a more vague tone and vague lyricism.
He said this in an interview with Rock Sound:
There’s a new song about my uncle who passed...
[Verse 1]
I said goodbye today
I just watched you drive away
And I just stood with mum and waved
I said goodbye today
Wish you were in a better way
But now it's done and now you're gone
[Chorus]
I remember when you took the boat out
You took it too far, took it too far
You took it too far, took it too far
[Verse 2]
She came in today
I just looked at my dad's face
He was crying I knew she was lying when she said "You're okay"
You're not okay, no, you're not okay, are you?
You're not okay, no, you're not okay, are you?
[Chorus]
I remember when you took the boat out
You took it too far, took it too far
You took it too far, took it too far
[Bridge]
And I remember when you took the boat out
You took it too far, took it too far
You took it too far, took it too far
[Chorus]
I remember when you took the boat out
You took it too far, took it too far
You took it too far, took it too far
[Outro]
That's just you, you always
Took it too far, took it too far
That's just you, you always
Took it too far, took it too far
