Drop me down in the somber chamber of reflection to sleep in silent isolation
Let me dream forever as a drift down the river, flowing to the end
There's no itch, nor no shiver;
I forget me again
Take it in: artificial rays of light peer into me
Paper walls; leave me exposed, yet secluded
Breathing in, my lungs shutter in synchronicity with the seconds I descend into a haze of medication
A drab cycle spinning
The curtains of our eyes, weighed down in exhaustion
Sleeping for days, unawakened and nauseous
Some familiar, look around
Inverted world - upside down
What of the self that I’d known?
With every pill, I feel it falling away
An ethereal erasure, taken to the fabric of my fragile state of being
Removing all of my feelings
Screaming at ceilings
