What is your name & where are you from?

Hello, My name is Jaliah Johnson and I go by the name of Jay-Lo or finebyjaylooo_. I am born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana a small populated city with great creole, and Cajun food. My city is great combination of many cultures and is very much influence by other states.

What got you into music?

Honestly, I’ve always had a passion for music, I grew up wanting to know about the past meaning how was music created, where did hip-hop derive from and how did it become what it is today. I did a lot of research as child looking up music from the 50s through to the late 90s just educating myself about thе culture. With that being said, I used to listеn to a lot of oldies that my mom and grandma would always play and I enjoyed every bit of it. I eventually started to write music at the age of 10, and from there I would have a journal that I would write my rhymes in.

What makes you different?

I like to consider myself versatile, what makes me different is that I do not have to rap about my body to grab attention to people who would love to support me. I talk about things that I’ve been through, seen, or sometimes just by creating an imagery that’s inside of my head. Music is supposed to be fun and uplifting and I try my best to keep that going because one day someone is going to use my music for motivational purposes.

My favorite lyric I have made is

“Mind on a mission so I can see clearly, don’t want a soul around me I don’t want you near me stacking my paper ima die about my Benjamin’s don’t have time to be fussing about that petty sh!t im on my way up I don’t need distortions.”

What do you plan on achieving or promoting?

My plan with music is to on reach an audience that can make my music go world wide. I have plans for my music I don’t want to just be a hip-hop artist, I want to cross over to other genres that people can relate to and love to see my growth one step at a time. Trust the process.

What do you want to promote, when or what are you dropping? Single etc

Right now I am working on an E.P. to be released a little later in the year I want to make sure nothing is being rushed and I am taking my time because I take my craft seriously. However, I am dropping a single in April, so my fans can be aware of that soon.
