This work for mixed choir and organ was commissioned by the city of Ghent and premiered in that city in September 2020, with Philippe Herreweghe conducting.
The occasion of the piece was the unveiling of the newly restored The Adoration of a Mystic Lamb, an altarpiece by Hubert and Jan van Eyck.
