“Free Lunch” is the third single from the project, dropping on August 8th, roughly a month before the album release, and accompanied by a video that featured Rashad working in a laundromat.
Rashad urges everyone to get out there and grab what is owed to them. His TDE deal puts food on the table, bu...
[Intro]
Know it, scrub!
Scrub! Hahaha
Meal, meal
Ugh
[Chorus]
Meal ticket, ticket, meal ticket, ticket, comma, ugh
Steel in my liver, real niggas in my condom, huh
Phil hit me back, filled this one with a powder pack
Pill bring me back, feel this one out in California
[Verse 1]
The blow is good, the hoe is good
The show is good, you know it, scrub
Cool as me out front that Kanku's store
Kinfolk, you know it's love
Clean as Tide, Aveeno, Head & Shoulders
Hoe, you know it, scrub
Shoutout to my kinfolk, just got on that Coca-Cola, scrub
Watch my pole vault and my go-kart, this my getaway as fuck
In my hood we call it buck, fuck 'bout what you think of me
All my hoes be nines and dimes, all she want is chicken grease
All you know is what your mammy taught you 'bout the service
Get your ...
[Chorus]
Meal ticket, ticket, meal ticket, ticket, comma, ugh (Yeah)
Steel in my liver, real niggas in my condom, huh (Yeah)
Phil hit me back, filled this one with a powder pack
Pill bring me back, feel this one out in California
Meal ticket, ticket, meal ticket, ticket, come up, ugh (Yeah)
Steel in my liver, real niggas in my condom, huh
Phil hit me back, filled this one with a powder pack
Pill bring me back, feel this one out in California
[Verse 2]
Yeah, the trunk was full, the ride was long
The cop was cool, we smoked in peace
Ain't we them to move an ATM, might buy the atrium
Where you, Zay? Highway 58, at my cousin house
Nowadays, I like to bring my nephews and my budget out
I come from where you can't suck my dick
And leave my cousin out
In my hood we call it clout, fuck 'bout what you think of me
All my hoes be nines and dimes, all she want is chicken grease
All you know is what your mammy taught you 'bout the service
Get your...
[Chorus]
Meal ticket, ticket, meal ticket, ticket, comma, ugh (Yeah)
Steel in my liver, real niggas in my condom, huh (Yeah)
Phil hit me back, filled this one with a powder pack (Yeah)
Pill bring me back, feel this one out in California
Meal ticket, ticket, meal ticket, ticket, comma, ugh
Steel in my liver, real niggas in my condom, huh
Phil hit me back, filled this one with a powder pack (Hello?)
Pill bring me back, feel this one out in California (Yeah)
[Outro]
Today was a keeper, uh
I lost my heroes (Burn you out and fade away)
Long time ago, time ago (Burn you out and fade away, way)
Way, way
They gon' bring you down and burn you out and fade away, way
They gon' bring you down and burn you out and fade away, way
They gon' bring you down and burn you out and fade away, way
Way, way
They gon' bring you down and burn you out and fade away, way

Isaiah Rashad released Free Lunch on Sun Aug 07 2016.
The track is the third single to drop from his debut studio album, scheduled to drop on September 2, 2016, per Top Dawg. The date was all but confirmed at the end of the “Free Lunch” music video—the cover art has $2 bills and the name “Free Lunch” has 9 letters in it, hence 9.2.16
No Phil isn’t Top Dawg. Phil is my homie.
The concept was realized by Isaiah Rashad and Dave Free. It’s a photograph of $2 bills. Isaiah relates them to the “$2 man” – Steve Reisman – and he thinks they bring good luck.
I want to say yes it was intentional, but no it wasn’t. It was cool that people felt that way when they saw it.
I wanted niggas to see j. Pounds, I wanted niggas to see my homies. He’s a funny dude and I wanted to put him in the video.
As soon as I heard the beat I knew I liked it. I came up with the hook immediately and I just heard “scrub” at first. So I kept saying, “You know it scrub.”
The song wasn’t really about nothing. It sounds tight. It’s really just a shout out to my crib, really.
My nigga told me he got on at Coca-Co...
I made that in 2015 at J Cole’s house—for his album that he was working on at the time, 4 Your Eyez Only. Cole recorded a song to it with Bas. It was damn near done, but he just didn’t like it. He didn’t like what he wrote. I loved the song, personally, but Cole didn’t.
So I asked him one day, “Are...
