First Steps

Took my first steps
Not even alive yet
Haven't been alive since
My parents had to split
I just couldn't understand
And i couldn't even grasp
The main problem at hand
So i had to walk past

Livin my life my sis hold my hand
The only one that really understands
Only one having to pull up my pants
Had to think fast to keep on the cast

And she just got another little brother
It meant she had to take care of another
Problems at home living in some thunder
Stayed up at night wishing for a sister

I had a sober mom with high hopes
My dad out the house she was alone
Shе was trying to find her self control
We wеre the only ones who gave her hope

She took care of us before her herself
Focused on my health before the wealth
A single mom three kids with no help
Alone bringin in food on the shelf

Movin place to place find a place to stay
Trailer parks and rv's every day
Erase the pain through a deadly vein
My dad left without a place to stay
Taken by foster care an abusive place
Remeber that desert as a deadly place
Mom off the drugs and refused to wait
Day to day see her kids on a daily base

Mom fought her own battle to get us back
Fought her bottles to keep her kids intact
Dad on tracks didn't try to get us back
Mom had to put her issues in her backpack
Brave face for her kids to think she was okay
I eventually i got my first step dad
He went to prison and didn't come back
Prayed every night that he would live that

My mom met another dude again
Was cool my brother saw him as a friend
Clicked till he got my mom drinking again
Fights and arguements and kids getting hit
Heard chase tell her that he didn't want to live
Only seven how did he think of this
