[Verse 1]
I wonder if you'll ever even know
How I wish to be so close
To you, but I guess I'll go
And think about it most of the day
I wonder if my luck'll ever change
And I can hold you in my arms
[Chorus]
Oh, you're my fire-starter
You lit me up and kept me warm most nights
And I'm not sure if this is wrong or right
Keep burning out every time I'm apart from you
I can't control this feeling I might lose
And it's not something that I'm tryna prove
When I tell you that I'm missing you
[Verse 2]
I wonder if you'll ever understand
How I long to be your man
But it's his eyes you're looking at
And I'll be there to take your hand
When your heart is on thе mend
I'll give you all that I can
[Chorus]
Oh, you're my firе-starter
You lit me up and kept me warm most nights
And I'm not sure if this is wrong or right
Keep burning out every time I'm apart from you
I can't control this feeling I might lose
And it's not something that I'm tryna prove
When I tell you that I'm missing you
[Bridge]
(Holding on to anything)
(Don't think that I'll be the same)
(Will your love be here to stay?)

We wrote it over two days with a certain old-time nostalgia in mind for the chords and melodies. The idea behind the song was to create a sense of longing for human connection which was something the world needed in the time of lockdown. The lyrics seemed to fall out so easily.
