I'm Amanda Lang at the New York Stock Exchange, where we could be in for a solid open to the trading day. Stock index futures point to some buying for the broader market, and for TEX. One sector that could provide a boost, wireless stocks!
Nokia is saying it expects to meet earnings targets for the current quarter... but the world's largest mobile phone maker is warning that third-quarter sales will be about 5 percent below the year-ago level. That's because of slumping sales in its network equipment division. Nokia, which closed yesterday - just a $1.05 above its lowest level in the year, is surging 10% in free-market trading. Motorola, one of its top competitors, is adding 5%. But one stock that could come under pressure is Boeing; Prudential has cut its 12-month price target on the DOW component to 42$ from 60$.
