“Filter” follows Jimin’s exploration of character and identity in a world where items like clothes, makeup, technology, etc. change how one’s perceived. Over a Latin pop beat, he asks the listener what they want to see, promising he will fit the mold of their desire.
[Verse 1: Jimin]
Please, look at me now
Let me know your type
날 골라 쓰면 돼 yeah
[Pre-Chorus: Jimin]
[Chorus: Jimin]
I’m your filter
[Verse 2: Jimin]
(Okay)
(Yes) Girl, you have your chance
I can be your Genie
How ‘bout Aladdin?
날 골라 쓰면 돼 yeah
[Pre-Chorus: Jimin]
[Chorus: Jimin]
I’m your filter
[Bridge: Jimin]
Yeah,
[Chorus: Jimin]
[Post-Chorus: Jimin]
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na
Pick your filter
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na
I’m your filter
[Outro: Jimin]
Ayy,

I came up with this song “Filter.” Filters can be the things within a camera application, or social media, but it can also mean people’s perspective or prejudice. I took these various meanings and expressed it into the song of how I want to present myself to the world in many different ways. I think...
Jimin has a soft voice, but a guide singer’s version sounded a bit mature. So we wanted to make “Filter” sound both refreshing and sexy. On top of that, to meet the preference of Big Hit Entertainment—which houses the seven-piece act—we also came up with more provocative words than normal.
