“Fever” is a song Dafna submitted for the eTown Handmade Song’s competition, and is the first song she ever had recorded and released. Dafna wrote this song as a way to portray depression as something physical, by calling it a ‘fever’.
Something's crawling up my throat
It's hard to swallow
This pain is so unknown
What am I supposed to do?
I'm lost all on my own
Who am I supposed to follow?
Don't know where to find a home
But that's nothing new
I'm cold and empty
My dizzy head is numb
And everything that's left of me
Piece by piece is gone
I'm a hollow mess
Have no heartbeat in my chest
I must confess that I
Think I have a fever
I'm dead inside
Got nothing left to cry
Can't say that I tried
But I think I have a fever
I think I have a fever
Cold sweat runs down my back
I'm tired and empty
So fragile about to crack
Pretty glass China doll
No energy to attack
Somebody save me
No one's gonna have my back
Or catch me when I fall
I'm cold and empty
My dizzy head is numb
And everything that's left of me
Piece by piece is gone
I'm a hollow mess
Have no heartbeat in my chest
I must confess that I
Think I have a fever
I'm dead inside
Got nothing left to cry
Can't say that I tried
But I think I have a fever
I think I have a fever
Slowly dying
Got nothing left
But I'm not trying
To fight against this fever
But why try?
When maybe I just want to die
But I think I have a fever
I think I have a fever
I'm a hollow mess
Have no heartbeat in my chest
I must confess that I
Think I have a fever
I'm dead inside
Got nothing left to cry
Can't say that I tried
But I think I have a fever
I think I have a fever
