Written from the perspective of a mentally ill insect, this is the second track in David Shrigley’s spoken word compilation album, Shrigley Forced To Speak With Others, released on October 23, 2006.
[Verse: Leigh Ferguson, Vrnda Daktor]
I am an insect
I am so small
You can hardly see me
If you looked at me under a magnifying glass, I would smile at you and show you my little teeth
Actually, I look a bit like you
I'm outside your window
I'm going to come inside later on
While you're asleep, I'll walk across your face
And when you wake up, you'll feel my footprints where I walked (Oooh, oooh)
They'll feel like little pinpricks
And they'll swell up and become infected
And they'll be quite painful
So you'll know just how much I love you (Oooh, oooh)
I'll climb in your ear
And I'll speak to you in my tiny voice
I'll sing you my little song
I could get inside your brain if I wanted to
(Oooh, oooh)
I would quite like to get inside your brain
I think it'll taste nice (Oooh, oooh)
I'm pregnant (*mischevious giggle*)
You made me pregnant because you looked at me
I'm going to lay some eggs
I'd like to lay my eggs inside you
Because I love you
I want my little babies to grow up inside you
You will be a big nest for my babies
There would be hundreds of thousands of babies inside you
And one day they will all come out at once
It'll be the best thing that has ever happened to you
I love you
