[Verse 1]
I saw your faces in the break lights
And I drove myself home
I saw your faces in my rearview mirror
And I found myself thinking
I‘ll be anything you want me to be
I can even be her
I saw your faces lit up by the break lights
And I drove myself home
I’ll drive myself home
[Chorus]
How low (how low)
How low can I go?
How low (how low)
How low can I go, honey?
How long till I can laugh about it all?
How do I say what I want to say out loud?
How low (how low)
How low can I go?
How low (how low)
How low can I go, honey?
How long till I can laugh about it all?
How do I say what I want to say out loud?
[Verse 2]
I saw your faces lit up by the break lights
And I drove myself home
I saw you lost within the weightlessness of longing
And I drove myself home
I’ll drive myself home
Drive Myself Home was written by Brett Anderson & Richard Oakes.
Drive Myself Home was produced by Ed Buller.
Suede released Drive Myself Home on Fri Sep 16 2022.
We started working on the demo in March 2020. It started as a slow, funereal take on “Warszawa”, but evolved into something more sweeping and traditionally Suede. Once Neil finished recording the orchestral parts, it had a place on the album.
