I wonder what the animals are thinking
Late at night when it's dark outside
As people are sleeping

I had a friend who once told me
When you befriend them that they come into your dreams
And dance in the moonlight with you

So I went outside not knowing what I'd find
When I turned out the lights
And didn't make a sound
And then I saw them
And knew I wasn't alone...

Feeling fine, it's time
Patience let's find
Pastures with outlines
Animals go wild

I turned off the lights (dark)
I turned off the stereo
I went outside (in the dark)
And I tried to find them

We went where cars
And telephones
Aren't around
And we dance on the soft ground
